This creates an environment of understanding and camaraderie—everyone striving toward a better future. A recovery residence is a housing facility that provides alcohol-free and illicit-drug-free housing to individuals with substance abuse disorders and individuals with co-occurring mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders that does not include clinical treatment services. Our mission is to support persons in recovery from addiction by improving their access to quality recovery residences through standards, support services, placement, education, research and advocacy. A series of studies on Oxford Houses suggest they promote a host of positive outcomes at substantially lower costs compared to standard continuing care after residential treatment. These outcomes include not only substantially better abstinence rates, but also increased rates of employment and lower rates of criminal recidivism. Also, among recovery residence members, more 12-step mutual-help participation and lower levels of drinking and drug use in one’s social network predict better substance use outcomes and lower likelihood of arrest over time.

State-wide Affiliates of NARR inspect and certify that member residences are operating in accordance with the NARR Standard. In addition, clusters of local Oxford Houses form mutually supportive chapters so that houses can monitor each other. The primary mission of MARR is to promote this ethical and sustainable management of high-quality recovery residences throughout the State of Maine. Aggate Recovery Residence

Required programming includes attending Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings, which encourage residents to develop a community support network, as well as other groups designed to support sober, clean living. This community residence program, located in a quiet Albany neighborhood, serves 12 men who have both a mental illness and an addiction. We manage the ethical and safety standards for recovery residences in the State of Maine and certify residences based on the standards established by NARR. The guiding principles in this document are meant to provide an overarching framework that builds upon and extends the foundational policy and practice work that had guided the development of recovery housing to date.

As part of a national recovery movement across US college campuses, the University of San Francisco offers The Haven, a unique residential community for USF students in recovery from substance use issues or for those who simply desire to live a sober, healthy recovery lifestyle. recovery residences are sober living environments, meaning that residents are expected to abstain from alcohol and illegal drug use and the misuse of prescribed medications and over the counter medications or other mind-altering substances of any sort. We provide transportation to your addiction treatment, recovery groups, and 12-step meetings. Our house managers and staff are always available to help you work through the questions and obstacles that come naturally in recovery. Services will include a safe, supportive program with a range of services to assist individuals on the path to recovery – coupled with education, employment, and healthcare supports to help people stably transition to permanent supportive housing.

The Haven Recovery Residence

At Trini Foundation, we provide access to safe spaces and community resources while integrating yoga and mindfulness into the recovery process. The use of the registry does not constitute an endorsement by SUPR for residences that are not regulated. At a Refresh Recovery Residence, you’ll find support in every area, so your attention can be squarely on getting sober and making a strong start in recovery. Over the next year HCA will be working on determining the logistics and providing technical assistance regarding the new law.

Setting The Standard For Recovery Residences

We are creating a meaningful recovery effort that will provide much needed support and permanent housing focused on recovery. This is one of the ways Project HOME will empower adults to break the cycle of homelessness while addressing the opioid crisis and the impact addiction has on the homeless community. To bring expertise to the living environments focused on the whole-person approach to recovery.

• Recovery residences go by different names, like Oxford Houses, sober living houses, recovery homes, and halfway houses.
• Oxford House is a 47-year old model for democratically self-governing, financially self-supporting recovery residences for individuals with substance use disorders.
• Yoga, meditation, and mindfulness techniques are offered onsite at Trini’s Recovery Residences providing ongoing opportunities for self-discovery and connection.
• Given that recovery residences do not provide treatment, state regulations applicable to addiction treatment do not apply to them.

To give providers and program participants access to high-quality recovery residences in San Diego County region. Recovery residences are privately-owned homes or complexes that provide housing for adults with a substance use disorder (SUD) or co-occurring disorder. They serve individuals that are currently receiving outpatient SUD services or are enrolled in recovery services. SAMHSA’s mission is to lead public health and service delivery efforts that promote mental health, prevent substance misuse, and provide treatments and supports to foster recovery while ensuring equitable access and better outcomes. Recovery residences support individuals by providing a safe living environment and readily available community of recovery-related social support.

Recovery Residence Search

Search for recovery homes (both Level 1 and Level 2 recovery residences and Oxford Houses) using the registry of recovery homes. Recovery residences listed on the registry are verified by the Washington Alliance of Quality Recovery Residences (WAQRR) as following the National Alliance of Recovery Residences (NARR) best practices. These residences allow residents to use prescribed medication for physical health, mental health, and substance use disorders. Recovery residences are safe, healthy, family-like, substance-free living environments that support individuals in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD).

Mission
To offer a preventive approach to younger adults who are experiencing early episodes of mental illness within a therapeutic, non-institutional, home-like setting. With the help of HCRS, Amy was placed in more stable home environment with a family that she had already established a relationship with during emergency respite care. With natural supports and the supports from HCRS; Amy has been able to establish a safe and more consistent relationship between herself and her biological family; she has been able to maintain gainful employment; and just last year was legally appointed to be her own guardian. This internship opportunity really helped build Amy’s vocational skills and professional self esteem.

The work at Sacred Heart will build on Project HOME’s existing successful program at St. Elizabeth’s https://ecosoberhouse.com/what-are-sober-living-houses/ to address the growing opioid epidemic in Philadelphia. This is part of Project HOME’s Recovery Initiative that will not only transform lives, but entire neighborhoods. Trini’s Residence provides housing for women, at least 18 years of age, in recovery for drug and alcohol addiction with access to community supports, connection to recovery services, and onsite peer support and yoga sessions.
